I Can Do This
When it comes to faith there are only two types of people in the world—those who use it and those who don’t. Every single person on earth has the capacity for faith. The problem is not how your soul is built—it’s false to say, “I have no faith.” No! Rather, it is the kind of attitude you have toward life. That’s what determines whether or not you succeed.
How many people are taught by their circumstances, their situation, that bad things happen and you need to be safe, you need to protect yourself. You will never succeed that way. The hard times will still be hard on you, without mercy. The devil will NOT quit just because you don’t want to fight. The only thing the devil knows is power. And the only thing the devil fears is Holy Ghost power—which comes by faith.
When supernatural chariots of fire pulled by supernatural horses came down in a whirlwind and picked up Elijah, taking the prophet to heaven, his assistant Elisha saw the whole thing.
Elijah’s mantle was left behind for the younger man to possess. OK...now what? What do I do with a coat that belonged to someone else. Yes, what do I do with the power of God’s Spirit that Christ left for me. Elijah picked up that mantle, walked to the nearby Jordan River to cross over, and striking the river with Elijah’s mantle, he shouted, “Where is the God of Elijah!?” Just then the waters of the river stopped, and he crossed over on dry ground to begin his own prophetic ministry.
What do you do now that you have the power of the Holy Ghost in your life? Still think and act the same as before? NO! You walk daily in the power of the Holy Spirit. Say these words from your heart with faith in Christ: “I can do this!”
